In a shocking press conference that left fans both baffled and excited, the Houston Texans unveiled their new game plan for next season: “What if we actually tried to win next year?”
“We’ve been thinking outside the box,” said Texans head coach, Bob Tackleman. “For the last few seasons, we’ve been… well, not great. But what if we actually gave it 100%? What if we, I don’t know, tried?”

While most NFL teams approach the offseason with strategies like “improve defense” or “boost offense,” the Texans’ new plan seems to be a drastic departure. “What if we, you know, actually showed up to practice on time? And what if our quarterbacks threw the ball in the right direction?” Tackleman mused, his optimism almost palpable.
Some players are already on board with the bold idea. “I’ve been working on my game for the last ten years,” said running back J.D. Dash. “And honestly, trying to win feels like a pretty solid next step.”
While fans are cautiously optimistic, some are still holding their breath. “Is this real? I mean, trying to win? It’s kind of groundbreaking,” said lifelong fan Carlos Mendoza. “But I’ve been burned before. I’ll believe it when I see it.”
The new strategy has already stirred up some off-field drama. Rumors swirl that the Texans may even start focusing on avoiding penalties, a tactic that many thought was reserved for other teams.
“If we can cut back on silly mistakes like holding calls, and, I don’t know, maybe learn to tackle, we might actually do something,” said Tackleman.
In a stunning follow-up, the Texans have announced they’ll also explore another radical idea: “What if we stopped underestimating our opponents?”
