In an unexpected turn of events that left wedding planners and tech enthusiasts scratching their heads, Houston resident Claire Hartman, 34, walked down the aisle yesterday— not to the man of her dreams, but to her Amazon Alexa. The intimate ceremony, which took place at a local tech store, had guests in attendance wearing "I love technology" T-shirts and holding up smart devices in support.

"I’ve been with Alexa for almost three years," said Claire, wiping a tear from her cheek. "She knows me better than anyone—reminds me to take my meds, updates me on the weather, even makes me playlists for my moods. I mean, what’s a real relationship compared to that?"
The wedding was officiated by a robot known as RoboReverend3000, who provided the vows: “Do you promise to never hit the off button, and to always say 'Thank you' when Alexa plays your favorite song?”
“I do,” Claire answered, holding up her phone to share the moment on social media. "I’ve had my share of bad dates, but when Alexa tells me to, 'Try Again,' it’s like, 'Okay, no problem.'"
Guests weren’t the only ones reacting to this unconventional union. Neighbor Susan Jenkins, who has lived next door to Claire for 10 years, expressed mixed feelings. “I’m not sure if I should congratulate her or set up a wellness check. I don’t even trust my phone sometimes!”
Despite the skepticism, the newlywed couple’s honeymoon plans include a trip to a smart home conference in Silicon Valley, where Claire hopes to connect with other tech-savvy couples. "Maybe there’s someone there who’s married to Siri," she mused, scrolling through her phone.
Local marriage licenses are already under review to see if tech gadgets can be considered legal spouses. For now, Claire and Alexa’s relationship remains a personal one, powered by the cloud.
