Grammys Introduce New Category for ‘Best Song You’ve Heard 3,000 Times on TikTok’

By Melody Harmon– The Daily Throb

LOS ANGELES – The Recording Academy has finally embraced the inevitable by introducing a brand-new category at the Grammy Awards: Best Song You’ve Heard 3,000 Times on TikTok. The category aims to honor the earworms that haunt your every waking moment, whether you like it or not.

“We wanted to recognize the true impact of music today,” said Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. “And what better way to do that than by rewarding the songs that have been played under a million videos of people making pasta?”

The Criteria

To qualify, a song must meet at least one of the following requirements:

✅ Be used in at least 3 million TikTok videos, 90% of which are the exact same dance

✅ Have no more than 12 words of actual lyrics (the rest must be sped-up gibberish)

✅ Be a song from the early 2000s that Gen Z mistakenly thinks is brand new

✅ Have a beat drop so intense it makes a dog do parkour in the background

2025 Nominees (So Far)

The first-ever nominees for this prestigious award include:

🎵 That One Song You Thought Was by an Indie Artist but Is Actually AI

🎵 Somebody’s Mom’s Cooking Video Soundtrack (Sped-Up Version)

🎵 That 10-Second Clip from a Full Song That No One Has Ever Actually Listened To

🎵 A 15-Year-Old Remixing a Classic Hit in Their Bedroom on a 2008 Dell Laptop

🎵 Doja Cat (Doesn’t Matter What Song, Just Doja Cat)

Industry Reactions

Some industry veterans have embraced the change. Billie Eilish, who once won everything, simply shrugged and said, “Yeah, that tracks.” Meanwhile, legendary artists who spent years crafting albums expressed mild dismay that their work is now competing with a random noise clip that went viral over a raccoon falling off a roof.

TikTok influencers, on the other hand, are already celebrating. “This is amazing!” said @ViralQueen69, who has personally used all five nominated songs in her Get Ready With Me videos. “Finally, an award for the real music industry.

Looking Ahead

The Recording Academy is rumored to be considering additional TikTok-related Grammy categories, including:

🏆 Best Background Song to a Dog Doing Something Mildly Cute

🏆 Best Song That Was Originally a Joke but Somehow Charted

🏆 Most Reluctantly Famous Artist Who Now Has to Tour Because of TikTok

The Grammys will air next month, assuming everyone still cares by then and hasn’t already moved on to the next viral trend.
